I would love to present your students with a chance of getting a t-shirt created with a multi-million dollar company. We have recently been picked up by Bealls, Zumiez, and are carried in 75 + stores in the state of Florida. Here is what we need- 1. All art must be sent in a pdf file format sized to fit within the box on the mock up sheet ** size may vary (ex. 12 x 7) but remember, the width of the shirt print is 12 wide, and that rule usually needs to be followed unless it is a portrait style composition. 2. The shirt design is going to be for a mens t-shirt, that being said, *you may lean towards a more uni style of art that can be worn by all, however shirt size and style will stay as mens. 3. All submissions must be signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner on all works *can be a personalized signature, or cleanly printed and small** 4. All pieces must contain 3-5 separate colors. Examples of simple designs will be attached to this e-mail, but are designs that are not printed yet. These may be used as examples but may not be printed/passed out. I am also attaching the shirts that we will be using for this project, and you may base your art on whichever color shirt you prefer. When sending in the artwork please use the attached mock up spread sheet. **I am also attaching two of our personal designs in the mock layout to show as an example** Style of Art- We are a Florida lifestyle company, that thrives of the Locals that have helped Florida become what it is. Your personal interpretation of the brand will help you to come up with the best possible design for our demographic. We sell mainly to 15 years of age - 40 years of age, with the personal interests of surfing, fishing, skating, beaching it, and all that Florida is known for. I am also attaching the logo of our company to be used in your designs, however, the font and overall size proportions cannot be tampered with. You may change to color of the logo to whatever suits your design the best. **If students have a difficult time placing the logo on the design they may send in the art without it, with a description of where they want it placed.** Prize- Not only will you get to have your signed work advertised by us, and on our website, you will get three shirts with your design, a local sticker and hat of your choice, along with a check prize of $50.00. The winner of this will be announced in two weeks time. April 17th at 12:00am we will no longer be accepting submissions for the t-shirt design. Please send all submissions to [email protected] Please do not hesitate to call me on my personal cell phone, or work phone with all questions and concerns. 941 302 9336 - cell 800 933 2570 - cell Rachel Stotler 800-933-2570 graphic artist www.localbrandonly.com

For this month's assignment, your piece must be based off of a wildlife animal. This includes anything from aquatic animals, land animals, or even insects. The main focus of the piece must be the animal!
Due date is April 11th. *Super sorry this post went up late, but there is still plenty of time to complete :) - Kristen This month assignment is to create a travel poster for a mythical/fictional world.
Search things like "vintage travel posters" for great reference!! Try taking inspiration from the compositions and color palettes. Due date is March 14th, 2017 (This is the week before spring break starts) Welcome new artillery members! This blog is the hub for all the information you will need for both the critiques and the competitions we will be participating in. Meetings will be every Tuesday
-Competitions listed will have links to the rules and the due date. Since it is mid year, most competitions are over but we will be adding more as we discover them. -Blog posts usually consist of the monthly project. I will provide descriptions of what we expect and any details you will need to complete it. Along with the due date of the monthly project, I will remind you guys of any other event coming up. -Critiques will be on the Tuesday meetings a month from when it is assigned. They work exactly like class critiques where both Ferrell and the rest of the members will critique your piece, except Artillery will be more in depth. -Contact Information for questions is listed here: - Kristen (Captain): [email protected] - Ferrell: [email protected] - I (Kristen) am in the art room after school everyday if you have any in-person questions! If you're question is not answered in a blog post, feel free to contact me whenever! Also if texting is easier for you, email me for my number! - Kristen (Captain) For January's monthly assignment, the word that the piece must be based on is "enchanted". There are many different ways to take this word so get creative! Due date is February 14th, 2017
Also, Gasparilla is coming up, so get working on it!! Due Date is February 14, 2017 This month, each member received their individualized assignment. The assignments were created based on your weaknesses so that you can make stronger work. Ferrell and both the officers are always available to help in anyway.
The critique will be on December 13th, 2016. As always, we expect full, finished pieces. Due to the last's critique lack of effort/failure, we are having a completely new piece due by Wednesday, November 9th. Due to a prior engangement Ferrell has, we will not have a critique for it on Tuesday. During some point of the day, you have to come to the art room and drop off your piece. If it is digital, email it to Ferrell's email, [email protected].
This is unlike October's assignment where the piece was to be submitted for a competition, this is resorting back to our system of picking a theme for everyone in the team to do. The theme will be victory and we expect a *FULLY DONE PIECE*. We are not accepting just tight sketches, thumbnails, or forgetting your piece on the day of the critique. As the last blog post said, Ferrell and I expect everyone to take this seriously. Last month's performance will not be accepted anymore, we expect much more. - Kristen This month's assignment is to fully focus on our competition list. In our meeting on October 4th, 2016, you should of signed up for at least 2 competitions on the whiteboard. Almost all of the rules and guidelines are linked on our competition paged (most of them are up there as of the publication of this post, some are missing and should be up very soon).
Depending on the guidelines of each competition, you can come up with an original art piece or work on a previous piece you have already done. It's important to remember that some of these have rewards such as scholarships, so take this seriously! Due date is November 1st Also on October 11th, thumbnails for the patriotic ceiling tile are due, we will have a mini critique to decide what we will go with. *Since SRQ Student Artwork Competition is due on October 13th, we will have a critique for all of those participating in that competition on October 11th. For September, our monthly assignment is pretty open ended. Choose any subject you want and photograph it. Like you would any other art project, take into account composition, color, value, etc.
Out of all of your pictures, choose the best ten out of the bunch. In your final project, you will create a drawing based off of your photography, using it for reference. We will critique both the photography and the final drawing on September 27, 2016. |
